offer day-visits to the Mahango Game Park which is situated only an hour's
drive away with excellent en-route birding. This compact park has good species
diversity and the visitor can usually enjoy a very rewarding day's excursion
with lunch provided. Walking is allowed in this park, which offers some
interesting on-foot close up game viewing opportunities. |

| Kaudom
Game Reserve is closer to Shamvura, but the access road makes for an arduous
4x4 journey. The park offers two overnight camps with very basic facilities,
thus all excursions must be completely self-sufficient. This park can provide
the adventurous visitor with some memorable and worthwhile experiences.
It is, however, extensive with many unmarked routes between water points,
making it advisable to travel in the company of an experienced guide. The
authorities require that each party consists of at least two 4x4 vehicles
for safety reasons. |
Two
4x4 vehicles are available for hire, with experienced driver/guides to accompany
the truly adventurous traveller.
